Straight answers, no runaround.
01What does Docket Intake replace?+
The messy front end of tax file collection: ad-hoc email chains, generic upload requests, scattered follow-ups, and repeated re-entry of basic client data.
02Does this replace TaxCycle?+
No. Docket is the intake and orchestration layer before tax preparation. It feeds TaxCycle — it does not compete with it.
03Can firms keep files on their own servers?+
Yes. Docket supports both self-hosted local deployment and a Docket-hosted central model. Firms choose what fits their infrastructure and compliance posture.
04How do clients access their intake portal?+
Clients receive a magic link via email. No account creation, no passwords. They review their questionnaire and upload documents through one guided portal.
05How long does setup take?+
A hosted firm can be onboarded in under an hour. Self-hosted deployments take slightly longer depending on the firm's infrastructure and IT availability.
06What integrations are planned?+
TaxCycle export is built in today. CRA Auto-fill awareness is part of the workflow. Additional integrations will follow based on pilot firm feedback.
07Can we try it before committing?+
Yes. The pilot program is designed for exactly this. Reach out through the Contact page to start a conversation.
08Is my client data staying in Canada?+
Yes. The Docket-hosted option uses Canadian infrastructure with data residency in Canada. Self-hosted deployments stay entirely on your own hardware.
